New Years Eve is the biggest night/day for Confetti.  More Confetti is dropped, thrown and sprinkled on New Years Eve than any other day of the year.
Need an idea for your New Years Eve Favors.  Look no further than Martha Stewart Living.
Martha, the queen of all the best in decor, has a great idea for pre-packing confetti and a party horn.  Why not take it a step further and use a unique confetti shape, a bright shiny metallic confetti and a coordinating centerpiece.

Who invented Confetti?
We don't know who but we know where.
Confetti was first used at the Casino de Paris in France.
It wasn't planned. Someone took down the decorations from a New Years Eve Party and cut them into smaller pieces. The next night the club goers threw them from the balconies. Thus, Party Confetti was born.
This was in 1891. Within 4 years the first machine to make confetti was built.
You can read more about it in the April 27, 1895 issue of Scientific American Magazine.

What is Confetti made of?
Confetti is made from paper, metal, mylar, plastic or fabric.

What is the most popular Confetti Shape?

Year round, stars are the most popular shape.   Heart shaped confetti is the best seller for Valentines Day and Shamrock confetti is the best seller for St Patricks Day.
During the Christmas Season, Snowflake Confetti is Number One followed closely by Christmas Tree Confetti.
